The Blind Burro
Baja Coastal Cuisine in East Village
Located steps away from Petco Park, The Blind Burro is owned and operated by Good Time Design in San Diego. The Blind Burro specializes in baja coastal cuisine using local and sustainable seafood and produce when possible. Think grilled fish, chicken and shrimp with a Mexican and Baja inspired twist.
Some menu standouts include ceviche, carnitas, jicama tacos, carne asada tacos and shrimp molcajete. The Blind Burro also showcases a second-to-none tequila, mezcal and spirits program that enhances the restaurant’s Baja-coastal vibe. With a walk up outdoor bar, guests are able to eat and drink, while enjoying the always amazing San Diego weather. Come late night, the restaurant converts into a fun and unique lounge.
About the Name
Burros were the backbone of Mexican agriculture and cultivation. For us, the burro not only symbolizes hard work and tenacity, it also conjures images of fresh harvest and the best ingredients yielded from the crop. We decided on The Blind Burro because we also like to see a fresh Baja plate that is without judgement, just pure enjoyment. We aren’t thinking just over the border, we are trying to push past borders for a BLIND experience that just enjoys flavors and the experience in the moment. So, together, The Blind Burro signifies hard work and tenacity to bring you food and drink to enjoy without constraints.
